Songs of Hope May 2026

The May Skerries Climate Conversation
Sabine of Sustainable Skerries writes on 21 May 2026:
A big thank-you to everyone who came to last night’s Songs of Hope, the May event in our Skerries Climate Conversations series.
Around 30 people of all ages came together in Skerries Harps for a new kind of Sustainable Skerries event. With voices, ukuleles, guitars and other instruments, the group created a warm and uplifting atmosphere. There was music, shared reflection, and a real sense of connection and community, just the kind of hopeful energy that can help balance some of the heaviness that often surrounds conversations about climate and the environment.

We are very grateful to Dublin Climate Action Week / Fingal County Council for their support, and a huge thank-you as well to Skerries Harps for the wonderful venue.
If you would like more ukulele music, you can find all events for the Skerries Ukulele Festival on 29 and 30 May, including gigs, workshops, and beginner lessons for adults and children, at:https://skerriesukulelefestival.eventbrite.com/
And next up in our Climate Conversations series is the Rolling Orchard Picnic on 17 June at 7.30 pm. Join us by bike to experience five of the fourteen mini open orchards in Skerries, in a collaboration between Skerries Cycling Initiative and Sustainable Skerries. It is free, but places are limited, so please sign up using this form or email sustskerries@gmail.com.
